Whitney Houston Death Accelerated By Drug Abuse: Probe Finds

Tears haven’t yet dried up for the fans of Whitney Houston on her unexpected demise last month. The singer’s mysterious death by drowning in her own bath, had called for an immediate inquest. New revelations from a coroner have brought forth the real cause of her death

The coroner’s spokesperson has stated thatHouston’s death was neither a suicide nor a murder, but was just a case of accidental drowning. The 48-year-old singer’s demise may have been accelerated by her drug abuse and heart disease brought about by drugs.

Houstonwas a highly celebrated artist of her times and was one of the world’s best selling artists from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s, but had a long history of drug addiction.

She was found dead, submerged in her own bath in a hotel room incidentally during the eve of the Grammy Awards on 11th February 2012.

Whitney Houston’s sudden death was quick to be compared by media to the death of Michael Jackson, who was also addicted to drugs. It is being said that the singer was a persistent cocaine consumer.

The LA County Coroner’s office described the reason of death as drowning and added that the effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use”. Toxicology results also found marijuana, as well as an anti-anxiety drug, a muscle relaxant and an allergy medication, in her blood sample.

This will call for the closure of the case, which was being debated widely. The funeral was attended by high profile celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige.
