Pune: A new initiative, christened Runway to Success, comprising free monthly workshops on branding and advertising for start-ups in Pune and Mumbai has been unveiled by Pune-based Seagull Advertising.
According to the company, the workshops would aim at handholding start-ups through the process of brand building, with the help of Seagull’s proprietary branding tool Wings For Profit.
Two workshops have already been organized in Pune and the idea has found favor with many aspiring brands.
Explaining the initiative, Sameer Desai, owner and managing director, Seagull Advertising said, “I started this agency in 1996 in my father’s garage, with a capital investment of 10,000, a background of sales, and a workforce of 3 people, including my wife and myself. I was 26 then. Through the years, the company has faced many ups and downs, and I had to learn a lot of things the hard way. Eventually, we came up with our proprietary branding tool Wings for Profit, which was our turning point. We got our own business in shape with the help of this toll, and from then on, it was smoother sailing. Looking back at my experiences, I wished to help other start-ups because I know how tough the going can be and that’s how Runway to Success was born.”
Adding that “though many start-ups have brilliant ideas, it’s sad to see an idea getting killed simply because it doesn’t get executed properly. That’s where we can lend our expertise. Till now, we’ve worked with brands like Pepsi, Bacardi, Smirnoff, Brown-Forman, Symbiosis, Pudumjee Hygiene, Jaihind, P.N. Gadgil Jewellers, Thermax, and we’re confident we can help any start-up or brand, across any sector, take off successfully.”
While the workshops are free, they can accommodate only a limited number of people, which means all enquiries go through a screening process. ‘This is because we want to be sure the entrepreneurs are strongly invested both mentally and financially in their business, before taking it ahead. Otherwise, the process would not turn out to be helpful,’ he said.
The first Mumbai workshop is be held on May 23, at Seagull’s BKC office. The company has added that companies who are keen on being part of the initiative can click here and register.
