News of Microsoft replacing the Nokia tag from its Lumia smartphones would have brought some pain to Nokia fanboys. But they can now find a silver lining in the newly launched Nokia phone. Nokia 130 is the first of the feature phone to enter the Indian market since Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia and the device targets consumers who are on the lookout for their first phone.
The dual SIM rig may have little to boast on the hardware front, but it comes with a 1020 mAH battery that brings big joy to battery-concerned ones. Nokia 130 offers 13 hours of talktime and can gives 36 days of standby on a single charge! You read it right, it’s 36 days and not 36 hours. That’s the benefit you have when you step back from smartphone devices.
The USP of Nokia 130 comes in the form of media playback that can run up to 46 hours on a single charge. The device is pre-loaded with music and video players and also comes loaded with FM Radio, flashlight, Bluetooth and USB charging feature.
Storage is provided by the micro SD that supports up to 32 GB, which in turn means up to 6000 songs can be shuffled for playback on this device. It also packs a 1.8 inch display.
The Indian market is one of the very few that has stood sluggish to the makeover from Nokia to Microsoft. The production unit in Chennai is one of the very few units of Nokia that is yet to shift its name to Microsoft. And up on releasing the new-entry feature phone to Indian markets, Microsoft would be eyeing a precise trump card performance by launching it under the Nokia brand.
Nokia 130 is priced at Rs 1649. Raghuvesh Sarup, Marketing Director of Nokia India Sales Pvt. Ltd believes Nokia 130 to be ideal for the ones who are looking to own their maiden phones, alongside those in search for secondary phone to be used as back-up device. The mobile handset will be available in three shades – Red, Black and White. Are you getting yours?
