Liquor Baron Biju Trying to Force Withdrawal of Defamation Suit, Alleges Minister K Babu

Thiruvananthapuram:  The developments connected with the bar bribery scandal, which has already spurred the exit of Kerala’s high profile Finance Minister K M Mani, look all set to be the hottest topic in the state’s political terrain for many more days to come.

Even as Kerala is discussing the future of the UDF government and the Kerala Congress (M) led by K M Mani, Excise Minister K Babu has revealed that liquor baron Biju Ramesh has been trying hard to make him withdraw the defamation case the minister has fled against Biju Ramesh for dragging him into the bar bribery scandal.

K Babu, on Wednesday, stated that messengers sent by Biju Ramesh had come and met him to make him withdraw the defamation suit. Adding that the charges levelled against him by Biju doesn’t concern him a bit, Babu said that he would confront Biju’s allegations legally.

Babu also paid a visit to K M Mani’s residence and apprised the former finance minister of Biju Ramesh’s moves.
