Kochi: Colleges functioning under the SN Trust will not be able to go ahead with the appointment of teachers, with the Kerala High Court slapping a temporary stay in this regard.
The interim stay also means that the interview scheduled to be held on November 18 has also been frozen and can happen only with the permission of the High Court.
A petition filed by SN Trust Board member Advocate V R K Kaimal alleging that faculty appointment to these institutions are done after accepting bribes from candidates was heard by the High Court and the temporary stay followed the hearing. The petitioner had charged the SN Trust secretary with accepting amounts to the tune of Rs 50 lakh for each appointment.
An earlier plea filed by V Sajeendran, from Kannur, that prayed that amendments need to be brought into the schemes for appointment of faculty members, was also heard by the court.
The HC also directed the prominent display of the interim order of the court along with the details at offices of the SN Trust in Kollam, and the colleges. It also ordered distribution of the order among employees.
The hearing will be taken up again on November 26.
