Kochi: The completion schedule of the much-anticipated Kochi Metro Rail Project seems to be right on track, with the trial run set to happen this February.
Though slow pace of the work related to the project and shortage of workers have been an issue with the project, the DMRC, which is implementing the Rs 5,181.79 crore project, has been asked to expedite the project work.
According to reports quoting Kochi Metro Rail managing director Elias George, the distance to be covered during the trial run would be finalized after taking into account the completion of the work. There are stretches along Muttom where work is pending, he said.
Further, a few stations along the stretch where trial run is planned are yet to fully completed. The trial run will be carried out once these works are over.
It is expected that the first phase of the Kochi Metro rail project will be complete by June next year.
