Thiruvananthapuram: The National Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH), along with the Directorate of Social Justice, will hold the fourth online Interactive Disability Awareness Seminar (NIDAS) on February 20. The seminar, which would deal with Cerebral Palsy: Importance of Physiotherapy, will be handled by Shyni M T, Physiotherapist, NISH.
This live online seminar hosted at NISH will commence at their campus in Akkulam, Thiruvananthapuram, at 10.30 am. This will be simultaneously presented at all the District Child Protection Units (DCPU) offices for audiences present there via the internet.
The two-and-a-half-hour programme in Malayalam would aim at reaching out to a large number of parents and caregivers, who are not aware of the implications of disability, across the state.
Registrations can be made here. Participants should either have a personal computer, laptop or tablet with reliable high speed internet connectivity, webcam and microphone. The public who wish to participate from DCPU offices in each district may contact the Child Protection Officer nearest to them and avail the telephonic registration process, said a NISH statement.
