Addicted to Football, Vineeth Urges Youth to Develop Passion for Sports

Kozhikode: Stating he is addicted to football, Kerala Blasters’ striker C K Vineeth, on Tuesday, urged the youth to look for pleasure in sports, including football, instead of intoxicants.

Talking at a function to receive Olympian Rehman award, Vineeth, superstar of the recently concluded Indian Super League (ISL), said if people have a passion for sports , they would not go for drugs.

Expressing happiness over getting noticed through the ISL, Vineet, however, said he felt bad for not able to clinch the crown for his side. Paying rich tributes to Olympian Rehman, Vineet said he was honoured to receive the award named after the legendary footballer.

Kozhikode Mayor Thottathil Ravindran presented the award at the function presided over Calicut Press Club President Kamal Varadoor. Former National football player Niyaz Rehman and Haris Rehman, son of Olympian Rehman, among others, were present.
