Thiruvananthapuram: Close on the heels of the whirlwind of events that drew flak from various quarters against the police, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called a meeting of higher police officials from April 22.
The meeting will be held on range basis and the topics related to the functioning of the police will be broached in the meeting.
The meeting has been proposed in the wake of the alleged brutality of police towards Jishnu Pranoy’s mother and family members. There were allegations that his mother Mahija and uncle Sreejith were roughed up by the police during their protest in front of the DGP office yesterday.
IG Manoj Abraham had submitted a report on the incident to the DGP. The report will reach in front of the Chief Minister before 12pm today.
