Bribery Case: Dinakaran, Aide Interrogated in Chennai

Chennai: For the second day running, sidelined AIADMK Amma leader T.T. V. Dinakaran was interrogated by the Delhi Crime Branch police at his residence today in connection with the bribery case.

The special team escorted Dinakaran and his aide Mallikarjuna to Chennai after getting transit warrant from a court to track the money trial following seizure of Rs 1,30 crore from middleman Sukesh Chandrasekar, who possessed the money allegedly to bribe the EC officials to get back AIADMK’s “Two Leaves” symbol.

He was interrogated for more than five hours at Rajaji Bhavan in the city and at his residence yesterday. His interrogation was based on some information provided by a hawala operator Naresh, who was arrested at Delhi Airport today on his arrival from Thailand.

Today, the police team went to the house of a former PWD official, Mohan, in Adambakkam and questioned him about his alleged involvement in the money trail from Chennai to Delhi.

He was said to be a native of Mannargudi from where Dinakaran’s aunt and jailed V.K. Sasikala is hailing from.
After questioning him in the city, the Delhi team might take Dinakaran and others to Bengaluru and Kochi for further investigation.
