Kochi: Ranjith Sankar-directed new film “Ramante Eden Thottam”will hit the screens on May 12. Scripted and produced by the director, Kunchako Boban will appear as a resort owner, Raman Menon, in the film.
Anu Sithara appears as the character Malini in the film, which portrays two extremes– a view from an apartment balcony in bustling Kochi and a forest-like location. Major portions of the movie have been shot in a resort at Vagamon.
The ensemble cast includes Aju Varghese, Muthumani, Joju George, Ramesh Pisharady and Sreejith Ravi et al. Bijibal has composed the music for the lyrics of Santhosh Varma. Shreya Ghoshal, Suraj Santhosh and Rajalakshmi are the singers.
The film’s first video song “Akale oru kaadinte” sung by Shreya Ghoshal was released on Vishu morning.
“Ramante Eden Thottam” marks the first time association of Ranjith Sankar with Kunchacko Boban.
The director said that the film is much closer to life compared to his last movie “Pretham.” His new film focuses on relationships and people. Ranjith added that he wanted it to be a bit unique and so he chose a resort as the setting for the movie.
According to reports, the film is inspired from the life of noted Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki.
