Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today inaugurated the pooja function of ‘Kinar’, an upcoming Malayalam film on the issue of drinking water, under the banner of Fragrant Nature Film Creations.
The pooja function hosted by the film’s producers Sajeev P K and Anne Sajeev was also attended by Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, Ministers E Chandrasekharan, Kadannapalli Ramachandran, V S Sunil Kumar, Mathew T Thomas and K Raju, MLAs M K Muneer, K K Ramachandran Nair and K Rajan. KSFDC Chairman Lenin Rajendran, Shaji N Karun, Media Academy Chairman R S Babu, actress and ‘Kinar’ heroine Jaya Prada, film maker Blessy and music director M Jayachandran also were present.
Fragrant Nature Film Creations comes under the Aroma Fresh banner, which produced the critically-acclaimed romance ‘Pranayam’.
“Our work, which is centred around organic and pesticide-free produce comes from our zeal for social responsibility,” said Sajeev. “Through this film, which looks at water, a precious commodity in today’s world, we hope to extend our responsibility in creating awareness in this area.”
Director M A Nishad, who has also penned the story, pointed out that the water we waste is the rightful property of other persons and it was this idea that prompted the film. “As a film-maker, I have always tackled social issues,” he said.
Pasupathi, Suhasini, Madhupal, Archana, Renji Panikker and Joy Mathew play main roles in film, apart from Indrans, Shine Tom Chacko, Mithun Ramesh, Bhagat Manuel, Sunil Sugadha, Anil Nedumangadu, P Balachandran, Shruthy Menon, Sudheer Karamana, Sohan Seenulal and Balaji.
The script is by Dr Anver Abdulla and Dr Aju Narayanan. Cinematography is by Noushad Sheriff and Sajan is the editor. Music is by M Jayachandran, Kallara Gopan, and Bijibal has done the background score. Lyrics are by Prabha Varma, Hari Narayan, Sheela Paul Ramecha. Art direction is by Jothish, and audiography by Raja Krishnan.
