Chennai: Refusing to entertain questions on politics, Tamil superstar Rajinikanth advised fans to stay healthy and avoid smoking and drinking.
Talking to reporters on the fourth day of a photo session with fans, he said he was happy and elated to be with his fans, who had gathered in large numbers from various districts, to take photos with him. “It has been the same for almost for over three decades,” he added.
A visibly emotional Rajinikanth also appealed to the fans to take care of their families. “They come first and cinema comes only after that,” he added. Asked about rumours of his political entry, the actor said “Please don’t ask any questions on politics. It has been discussed enough and I have already said a lot. Let’s not speak about it now,” he added.
BJP leaders Pon Radhakrishnan and Tamilisai Soundararajan had said yesterday that, “If Rajinikanth enter politics, we will welcome it. If he joins BJP, the party will welcome it,” they said. When asked about the BJP leaders’ remarks, Rajini just said: No Comments. “Whatever I have to say I had already said. I have nothing more to say,” he had said yesterday.
When reporters again asked him about politics today, Rajini said: “Please don’t ask questions on politics”. Asked whether any pleasant surprise was in store for his fans after the five-day photo session, which concludes tomorrow, the superstar said, “We (he and fans) both meeting and taking pictures together is itself a surprise.”
