Rajinikanth will Enter Politics, Says Hindu Leader After Meeting Actor

Chennai: Taking a cue from Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth’s popular film dialogue, Hindu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath today confirmed the actor’s political entry.

Addressing media persons after meeting Rajinikanth at the latter’s residence here, Arjun Sampath, said, “ ‘Singam Singleaa Dhaan Varum’ meaning the ‘Lion will come alone’.”

Asked whether politics was discussed at the meeting, Sampath, said, “He said that he wants to do something for Tamil Nadu and country. He will consider joining politics.” The Hindu leader denied rumours that Rajinikanth was controlled by the BJP.

Rajinikanth met Tamil Nadu farmers here yesterday and discussed various agriculture-related issues in the State.

Not only this, he also promised to donate a whopping Rs one crore for inter-linking of rivers project.

Political experts were seeing this as a big hint by Rajinikanth about his entry into politics.

It may be recalled that much recently, the actor had asked his supporters to be ready for war and even asserted the system is rotten and it needs to be changed.

However, several times, Rajinikanth has refuted speculations about his political entry.

Last month, he declined to answer any political questions rejecting speculation over his possible political plunge. ‘Please don’t ask political questions,” he had said when reporters asked him about his recent comments on entering politics.
