Thiruvananthapuram: The current buzz in Kerala centres around rumours of former DGP TP Senkumar moving towards the BJP. With the BJP State general secretary M T Ramesh calling on Senkumar at his residence today has added more fuel to the speculations.
MT Ramesh arrived at Senkumar’s residence by about 1.45 pm today and was with him for about an hour. Reports suggest that the BJP state general secretary has extended the party’s invitation to the former Director General of Police to be part of the BJP.
Though Ramesh later told mediapersons that it was only a courtesy call, polical circles are abuzz with news of Senkumar’s impending entry into BJP. On being quizzed by mediapersons, Ramesh said that he hasn’t invited Senkumar to join the BJPand added that it is up to Senkumar to decide whether he should be part of any political outfit.
Meanwhile, reacting to the reports, Opposition leader and Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala opined that T P Senkumar should desist himself from being a puppet in the hands of the BJP. Pointing out that the Opposition had stood in support of the former DGP during difficult times, he said the Congress does not agree with Senkumar’s recent statements on the social situation in Kerala.
