Police to Take Action Against Culprits, Says Pinarayi

Thiruvananthapuram: The police will take action against the culprits and no perpetrators can escape from the clutches of the law, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the wake of the arrest of actor Dileep in connection with the case of attack and abduction bid on a popular Malayalam actress.

Pinarayi said that the accused in this case were arrested during the initial stage of the investigation. Commenting that the case will be taken forward, he said if there are more people involved in this case, they will also be brought before the law.

The Chief Minister added that he had given strict instructions to the DGP, interim DGP and the investigative team to conduct a proper inquiry and arrest the culprits without considering their status in the society.

Meanwhile, actor Dileep has been expelled from the producers’ organisation of the Malayalam Cinema. There are reports that FEFKA and the theatres’ association will also announce the removal of Dileep from their organizations soon.

Prithviraj calls for stance from AMMA

As the meeting of  the executive committee of Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) is progressing at the residence of actor Mammootty at Panampilly Nagar in Kochi, actor Prithviraj has demanded a clear stance from AMMA in the issue.

He said that if AMMA is hesitant to take a stance in Dileep’s issue, he will declare his decision in the issue. Meanwhile, actor Asif Ali demanded action against Dileep. AMMA General Secretary Mammootty, Kalabhavan Shajon, Edavela Babu and Remya Nambeesan are also attending the meeting.
