Kochi: Beleaguered actor Dileep, who is in police custody now in connection with the case of attack and sexual abuse of an actress, is facing the allegation regarding his involvement in actor Kalabhavan Mani’s death.
While speaking to a news channel a couple of days ago, director Baiju Kottarakkara claimed that he had received a phone call from a woman in Kozhikode stating that she has proof about some land deals between Mani and Dileep. She told the director that they were at odds regarding the land deals.
Following the revelations by Baiju, the CBI has collected the recorded phone call from him. The CBI officials also recorded the director’s statement.
Meanwhile, Mani’s brother RLV Ramakrishnan responded that he had doubts from the initial stage that Mani’s death was the result of a ‘quotation’ implemented by a gang.
He said the investigation by the previous official team into the land and financial deals of Mani was not up to snuff. The new allegations crop up at a time the CBI probe into the case is going on.
