Kochi: The Revenue Department has ordered for a probe into the allegation that the multiplex at Chalakkudy, D Cinemaas, owned by actor Dileep, has encroached the government land. Revenue Minister’s office has given the instruction in this regard to Thrissur District Collector.
It was alleged that Dileep had owned the land by fabricating documents, and a Minister had forbidden the administration, which started to take action against the encroachment before.
As per the complaint he had encroached upon the land by forging eight documents in 2005. The Kerala High Court had asked the revenue commissioner to probe the complaint. However, district collector, who carried out an investigation, gave a report in favour of Dileep.
Reports suggest that the Collector gave a favourable report after the Minister, who is part of the present Cabinet, used his influence.
There were reports that Dileep had given a close relative of the Minister an opportunity in the movies and he also promised huge cash in return for the favour.
