Thiruvananthapuram: The wife of actor Srinath will give complaint to the Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, and the DGP, Loknath Behra, seeking an investigation into the death of the actor. Latha said she wanted clarity regarding the mysterious death of Srinath, who was found dead in a hotel room at Kothamangalam during the shooting of the film “Shikkar”on April 23, 2010.
She said there were injuries on his body and his purse and phone were missing. Latha added that she is not suspecting anyone specifically in his death. According to the post-mortem report, there were injuries and bruises in11 parts of his body and this creates suspicion among his family members.
At the time of his death, the veins in his hands were found severed with a blade. He died before reaching the hospital. The bruises are behind his hands and legs, says the autopsy report. But the police concluded it as a suicide.
Though his family members gave a complaint in this regard in 2010 to the then Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, there was no progress in the investigation. Latha, who is living with her son in a rented house here, was not in a situation to take the issue forward.
Interestingly, about six months ago, when the case documents related to his death were asked as per the RTI Act, she got the reply that the papers were missing from the police station at Kothamangalam.
