Greenfield Stadium on BCCI’s Radar As Test Venue

New Delhi: Greenfield Stadium at Karyavattom in Thiruvananthapuram is one of the contenders for India-Sri Lanka cricket Test venue, say reports quoting the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sources.

Barsapara in Assam is another venue that is under consideration of the BCCI. Greenfield Stadium has been shortlisted for the first time as part of the new policy of the BCCI that more Test venues should be allotted.

Final decision in this regard will be taken during the meeting of the BCCI Tours and Fixtures Committee to be held in Kolkata today.

Meanwhile, the Kerala Cricket Association responded that they are looking forward to it with great expectations.
According to BCCI sources, India will play five ODIs and three T20 Internationals against Australia from September-end to mid-October. The series will be followed by three ODIs and as many T20Is against New Zealand.

The series against the Black Caps will begin late in October and conclude in the first week of November. The home season will end in December with three Tests, three ODIs and three T20 Internationals against Sri Lanka. After that Virat Kohli and his men will fly down to South Africa.
