Probe Enters Final Stage in Actress Assault Case

Kochi: If reports are to be believed, the probe into the molestation of a Malayalam actress is entering its final stages. The investigative team is preparing the charge sheet against actor Dileep as the evidence gathering has been completed.

The police are trying to conduct the trial together in two charge sheets. According to reports, the police are likely to submit the charge sheet at the end of this month. Meanwhile, the police are also giving hints about the arrest of two other people in connection with the case.

The police have already got additional information after questioning Dileep’s Manager Appunni, lawyers of the main accused, Suni, and the relatives of Dileep.

Meanwhile, the major problem the police are facing is that they are still unable to trace the mobile phone, which was used to film the sexual abuse of the actress in a running vehicle. Accused lawyers Pratheesh Chacko and Raju Joseph confessed to destroying the cellphone. But the police are still maintaining that the deposition of the two lawyers about the cellphone being destroyed is not true.

Dileep may submit his fresh bail plea in the High Court again on Monday. He has already changed his lawyer Ramkumar. Senior lawyer B. Raman Pillai will represent the actor in the court.
