Thiruvananthapuram: South Indian actress Anjali will be making a comeback to Malayalam Cinema with a new film directed by newbie Vinu Joseph.
Titled “Rosapoo,” this film will have Biju Menon in the lead. It will be Anjali’s second movie in Malayalam after a gap of almost seven years. She made her debut in Malayalam through Leo Thaddeus-directed “Payyans,” starring Jayasurya.
According to director Vinu, Anjali’s character is half Tamilian and half Kannadiga. Soubin Shahir and Dileesh Pothan also play important roles in the film, which will feature 143 characters and each of them will have their own prominence.
He said auditions were conducted in Chennai, Kochi and Kozhikode. The film will go on floors on August 23 in Ernakulam.
Anjali also has couple of films in Tamil which might hit the screens in September. She also has a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, “ Peranbu,” which is expected to get rolling soon.
