Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and South Indian actor Kamal Haasan held a meeting here today. Kamal called on the Chief Minister at the Cliff House here and discussed current political situations. The actor’s visit points to his impending entry into active politics.
Interestingly, Pinarayi took to his Facebook page and explained the details of his meeting with Kamal. He said during the meeting with his friend, they discussed politics for the first time.
When Kamal landed here today morning, he gave hints that during his meeting with the Chief Minister, political issues will be broached.
He said it’s an opportunity to learn from the CM’s experience and added that he reaches here at a time the Pinarayi-led government completes one year in the State. It may be recalled that Kamal had posted messages on social media appreciating the LDF government of Kerala.
Recently, while speaking to the media in Coimbatore, the actor said he had to begin his political journey somewhere — it didn’t matter if it was Coimbatore or on Twitter.
Urging his fans to continue questioning the government, Kamal said that by taking money for votes, they had “let in thieves” and had erred in doing so. It was time for political change and the struggle for change should continue.
