Yeddyurappa Slams Karnataka Govt over Gauri Lankesh Murder

Kannur: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP national leader B.S. Yeddyurappa said that the inefficiency of the State government was the cause for murder of renowned journalist and social activist Gauri Lankesh in Bengaluru on September 5.

Talking to mediapersons after his private visit at the Madayi temple (Thiruvar Kadu Bhagavathi Temple), about 25 km from here, for offering special prayer in the district last evening, Yeddyurappa said Gauri Lankesh’s murder was said to be the similar type of murder of MM Kalburgi.

The Karnataka Government had failed to arrest any person so far in the murder of MM Kalburgi. He said a Central agency investigation is must to book the persons behind the murder.

Yedyyurappa refuted the allegations that Sangh Parivar organisations were behind the murder, and said the allegation was baseless.

BJP Karnataka leaders MP Sobha Karandlaje and Ramachandra Gowda also accompanied Yeddyurappa.

Meanwhile, several protest demonstrations have been organised by the journalists and several political organizations, including Congress, DYFI, AIYF, Kerala Sahithya Parishath across Kerala demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the killing of Gauri Lankesh.
