Kochi: The hearing of the bail petition filed by actor Dileep in connection with the actress assault case has been completed in the Angamaly Magistrate Court today. The court will issue its verdict on September 18. Meanwhile, the remand custody of the actor has been extended for 14 days. His remand period ends today.
During the bail plea hearing, the police today explained to the court that Dileep had clearly given order to the main accused in the case, ‘Pulsar’ Suni. According to police, apart from giving instruction to Suni to take nude photograph of the actress, he had told him how to assault her.
Meanwhile, the High Court will consider the anticipatory bail petitions of actress Kavya Madhavan and director Nadirshah on Monday.
Dileep has been in jail for the last two months in connection with the case of sexual assault and abduction bid on a Malayalam actress. He has been suspected of the man behind the conspiracy.
In his bail petition, Dileep claimed that since the vital part of the investigation is nearing completion and he has completed 60 days in jail, he deserves bail.
He also assured the court that he will cooperate with the investigation. The court will consider the bail petition on September 16.
The actor also pointed out that he has strictly followed the directions of the Angamaly Magistrate Court during the two-hour permission given by the court to perform the rituals of his father’s shraadham.
