Dileep’s Bail Plea Rejected for the Fourth Time

Kochi: The bail plea of Malayalam actor Dileep, who has been in judicial custody for more than two months in connection with the sexual assault on a woman actor, was rejected for the fourth time today.

The plea was shot down on the ground that if Dileep was released, there are chances that he could influence witnesses and weaken the case. The prosecution said the case was at a critical juncture, and that a chargesheet would be filed in 90 days.

Dileep has been in jail for the last two months in connection with the case of sexual assault and abduction bid on a Malayalam actress.  In his bail petition, Dileep had claimed that since the vital part of the investigation is nearing completion and he has completed 60 days in jail, he deserved bail.

He also assured the court that he will cooperate with the investigation. The actor also pointed out that he has strictly followed the directions of the Angamaly Magistrate Court during the two-hour permission given by the court to perform the rituals of his father’s death anniversary rites.
