Chennai: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today held a meeting with his Tamil Nadu counterpart Edappadi K Palaniswami at the State Secretariat in Chennai. Sources said several issues, including the Mullaperiyar dam row with Kerala, were discussed during the meeting.
Later talking to reporters, Pinarayi Vijayan said, if there was any problem in the Mullaperiyar issue, it could be solved through negotiations. Stating that people of Kerala and Tamil Nadu are like brothers and sisters, he said ”any problem between the two states can be solved through talks”, he added.
”If there is any problem, initially the officials from both the States will hold talks, and, if needed there will be Ministerial level talks. If further needed, the Chief Ministers will hold talks and find a solution,” the Kerala Chief Minister said.
He also said that he has sought the help of the Tamil Nadu police in tracing the owner of the Nirmal Krishna Nidhi Ltd, who had cheated the depositors in Kerala and has reportedly fled to Kanya kumari in Tamil Nadu.
