Thiruvananthapuram: Parvathy, who had charmed the Malayalee film buffs with her noteworthy performances in films like “Charlie”, “Ennu Ninte Moideen” and “Bangalore Days” is all set for her Bollywood debut. And teaming up with her is none other than Irrfan Khan.
It could be a matter of coincidence that Parvathy has hopped on to the Bollywood bandwagon the same year as her Charlie and Bangalore Days co-star Dulquer Salman. Dulquer, as we all know, will be seen in Karwaan, a much-anticipated flick that also stars Irrfan.
Parvathy teaming up with the immensely talented Irrfan calls for a wait that could prove to be worthwhile. The film titled “ Qarib Qarib Singlle ” is directed by Tanuja Chandra, who has earlier helmed critically-acclaimed ventures such as “Dushman” and “Sanghursh”. “ Qarib Qarib Singlle ” will be Tanuja’s return to filmdom after a gap of 11 years.
The trailer of “Qarib Qarib Singlle” is currently trending on YouTube, and the chemistry between Parvathy and Irrfan has been lavishly applauded by viewers. This could be the selling point of the film too, with the trailer having a successful run already.
“Qarib Qarib Singlle” is a romantic travel movie that showcases two individuals who meet online. Irrfan plays Yogi opposite Parvathy’s Jayashree.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of an unusual romantic journey, the content promises to stand head and shoulders above the usual run-of-the-mill romantic films.
The tagline ‘Saath jeene marne wali love story nahi hai hamari’ could leave you confused, if you are looking for the usual “And they lived happily ever after” stuff out there. Tanuja Chandra’s film is set in Rishikesh, Gangtok and Bikaner. The movie is scheduled for release on 10th November this year.
