Kochi: The IDBI Federal Life Insurance Spice Coast Marathon 2017 to be organized on November 12, is set to have more than 4000 participants. The third edition of the race will be flagged off from Kochi Willingdon Island’s K. K. Premachandran Sports Complex by Sachin Tendulkar.
The Spice Coast Marathon 2017 will host three race categories – the Full Marathon (42.2 km) will commence at 4am; Half Marathon (21.1 km) at 5am; and Family Fun Run (8 km) at 7am. A total of 322 full marathon runners, 1491 half marathoners and 2359 Family Fun Run participants from various walks of life will come together to promote fitness and enjoy a good Sunday morning run. The marathon routes have XYZ medical aid stations and XYZ hydration points to ensure the safety of the runners.
Full Marathon runners will go through the Old Mattancherry Bridge, Thoppumpady, Mundanveli, Manassery, Beach Road, Veli Ground, Parade Ground, Bazar Road, Jew Town Road, Karuvelipady Hospital Road, Thoppumpady, Old Mattancherry Bridge, Vathuruthy, Venduruthy Bridge, Thevara,Ravipuram Junction, Old Thevara Raod, Foreshore Road, Durbar Hall Road, MG Road, Thevara and return to Willingdon Island.
Half Marathon runners after coming out of Willingdon Island will take the Vathuruthy, Vendururhty Bridge, Thevara, Ravipuram Junction, Old Thevara Raod, Foreshore Road, Durbar Hall Road, MG Road, Thevara, Willingdon Island for the 21.1 Km. Family Fun Runners will be Running in Willingdon Island Area.
The Race Expo will be held on Saturday, November 11, at the RSC Indoor Stadium, Kadvanthara, Kochi between 9am and 6.30 pm for participants to collect their running bibs and race kits.
