Thiruvananthapuram: Nishagandhi auditorium is ready with all the grandeur, to host the 22nd edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala. Delegates can enjoy the films in the open air auditorium of international standard. The charisma of the fete this time has been enhanced by transforming Nishagandhi to an open air theatre with a seating capacity for 2500 people.
Laser phosphor digital project, a recent initiative of Barco electronics will be used to screen the films for the upcoming fiesta.
Nishagandhi will screen the popular films of this cultural extravaganza. There will be three screenings a day. Indonesian horror film ‘Satan’s slave’ will have its screening here on the fourth day at 12 a.m; Midnight screening, a maiden attempt in the history of the international film fest will add to its glory. The inaugural, as well as the valedictory ceremonies of the festival will be held at Nishagandhi.
Delegate Pass Distribution on Dec 4
The festival office and delegate pass distribution will be inaugurated on 4th of December 11 a.m at Tagore Theatre. Minister for Cultural Affairs, A.K. Balan, will inaugurate the delegate pass distribution by handing it over to renowned actor Kunchako Boban.
The annual report of the activities of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, ‘Smaranika’ will be released by Academy Chairman Kamal. He will hand over the first copy of the report to A.K. Balan. Lenin Rajendran, Chairman, State Film Development Corporation, Bina Paul, Vice Chairperson, Chalachitra Academy, Mahesh Panju, Secretary, Chalachitra Academy, Sibi Malayil, Board Member, General Council Members V.K. Joseph and Sajitha Madathil will be present.
