Kerala Capital’s Sports Hub Wins Skoch Gold Award

The Sports Hub has been developed by IL&FS Group in PPP with Kerala Govt on DBOT basis.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Sports Hub, Thiruvananthapuram, has won the Skoch Gold at the Skoch Awards 2018 for the best Sports Infrastructure in the Urban Category. The Sports Hub has been developed by IL&FS group in Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the Kerala government on Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) basis

Sanjayankumar, Director, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, received the award on behalf of the government of Kerala.

In the preliminary stage, the Sports Hub was short listed with a Skoch Award of Merit and in the final stage was declared winner of the Skoch Gold Award. The Sports Hub has already received six awards, including this one. The Sports Hub had earlier won the David Vickers Award for New Stadium Venue of the Year 2016 (International).

Spread across 37 acres of land, the facility integrates sport, recreation and leisure. The facility has a capacity to seat 50,000 people and has been developd as a cricket-cum- football stadium.
